A new decision has been made in Uzbekistan regarding two-wheeled passenger cars, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.
Now mandatory registration of mopeds and scooters will be introduced. The reason for such a decision is their frequent violation of traffic rules.
In March, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan published a draft document on the registration of mopeds and scooters. Recently, changes were approved to the traffic rules, introducing new categories and terms of vehicle license plates. On July 18, the authorities decided on mandatory registration of vehicles.
Now the moped will be a vehicle with a design speed of more than 25 and less than 50 kilometers per hour, and an engine volume of more than 25 and less than 50 cubic meters. It was said that this applies to bicycles, ATVs and other types of vehicles.
And scooters include vehicles with an electric motor, a power of more than 0.25 kW and less than 4 kW, a design speed of more than 25, but not more than 50 kilometers per hour.
