Kazakhstan spends 1 trillion tenge per year on the salaries of state employees, reports the national portal "Adyrna" referring to the statement of the Minister of Finance Madi Takiyev.
"I can talk about the salary of the state apparatus as a whole. This amount is 1 trillion 32 thousand tenge, which is one year's salary of all government employees," Takiyev said at a government briefing on Tuesday.
In addition, according to the minister, although the number of ministries has increased from 14 to 21, the total number of staff has not increased.
"It was decided to divide the ministries, but the staff was not replenished, the number remained the same. As far as I know, there are 89,000 civil servants, and their number remains the same," added the head of the department.
