Russia has passed a law banning LGBT propaganda, pedophilia and gender reassignment

The State Duma of the Russian Federation has adopted a law prohibiting LGBT propaganda, pedophilia and gender reassignment in advertising, mass media, books, films and audiovisual services, and placing such information on the list of children prohibited. This was announced on the website of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.

"Deputies of the State Duma unanimously adopted in the third reading the law aimed at banning the distribution of materials promoting non-traditional sexual relations or privilege," the report said.

According to the adopted law, sites that distribute such information will be included in the prohibited list with subsequent blocking. Also, the sale of goods with LGBT propaganda is prohibited. Films promoting non-traditional relationships will not receive a box office certificate.

The ban also applies to the portrayal of non-traditional relationships in advertising. And in paid audiovisual services, access to such content should be possible only with the help of a special code that confirms the user's age.

Also, the State Duma of Russia adopted a law on amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses (Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation).

He will be held responsible for violating the provisions of the law. Violation of the ban on the promotion of non-traditional sexual relations is punishable by a fine of 50,000 to 400,000 rubles for individuals, 100,000 to 800,000 rubles for officials, and up to 5 million rubles for legal entities, or suspension of activity for up to 90 days.

Penalties for violating the ban on pedophile propaganda are more severe: 200,000 - 800,000 rubles. A fine of up to 2 million rubles for individuals and legal entities, up to 10 million rubles for officials. Foreigners and stateless persons are expelled from Russia for such violations.

"This decision will protect our children and the future of the country from the darkness spread by the USA and European countries. We have our own traditions and values," Vyacheslav Volodin, chairman of the State Duma, one of the authors of the amendments, explained on the Telegram channel about the adoption of the law.

In addition to Volodin, the authors of the amendments were the leaders of all factions and more than 300 deputies of the State Duma.
