The President of Kazakhstan has decided to award Bauyrzhan Momyshuly the title of “People’s Hero,” reports the national portal Adyrna.

The corresponding decree was signed by the Head of State. This was announced by the President’s Press Secretary, Ruslan Zheldibay, on his social media page.

According to the President, yesterday marked the 115th anniversary of the birth of the legendary military commander and hero of the Great Patriotic War, Bauyrzhan Momyshuly. His heroic legacy is widely recognized not only in Kazakhstan but also abroad.

The President noted that although Momyshuly has long been revered by the people as a national hero, he had not previously been officially awarded the title of “People’s Hero.” This issue had been raised repeatedly by local residents, members of the intelligentsia, and young people.

“We must restore historical justice. Therefore, as the Head of State, I have decided to confer the title of ‘People’s Hero’ on Bauyrzhan Momyshuly,” the statement said.

The President also emphasized that Momyshuly’s bravery is not a legend but is confirmed by concrete historical documents and has been acknowledged by fellow heroes who fought in the Great Patriotic War.

According to the Head of State, the name of Bauyrzhan Momyshuly should always serve as a symbol of patriotism and enduring heroism, and remain an example for the nation.
