In Kazakhstan, National Dombra Day is celebrated annually on the first Sunday of July. This year, the holiday will be marked on July 6, reports “Adyrna.”

Established in 2018 at the initiative of the President, this celebration aims to strengthen national identity, spark young people’s interest in traditional culture, and promote the continuity of generations.

The Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan has approved a nationwide program of events for the occasion. This year, around 300 events will be held across the country, with more than 200 planned in the regions.

On July 6, a festive concert by the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Orchestra of Folk Instruments will take place at the open-air venue of MEGA Alma-Ata in Almaty. Additionally, a special “Dombyra

Party” concert will be held at Kok-Tobe Park.

In Astana, a festive concert dedicated to National Dombra Day will be held at the amphitheater square. At the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a concert will be organized to honor the 100th anniversary of the prominent composer Nurgisa Tlendiyev.

In Zhambyl region, a musical evening titled “National Dombra Day – Honoring the Voice of Our Ancestors” will take place at the “Ancient Taraz” archaeological park.

In Turkistan, a cultural event called “Dombra – Dastan” will be held at the “Azret Sultan” historical and cultural museum-reserve.

Additionally, a nationwide challenge dedicated to Dombra Day is currently underway, with nearly 100 prominent figures from the cultural sphere taking part.
