Kazakh Students Achieve Historic Victory at the Balkan Olympiad

Kazakh students achieved a historic success at the Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad (JBMO) held in North Macedonia, reports Adyrna National Portal.

The JBMO, an international competition for students under the age of 16, has concluded in North Macedonia. The national team of Kazakhstan achieved its best result in the history of its participation: four gold, one silver, and one bronze medal. Among 24 participating countries, Kazakhstan secured second place in the team ranking. This was announced by the press service of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Gold medalists:

 

  • Anuar Agybayev – 9th grade student at NurOrda International School, Almaty
  • Alexander Oleynikov – 9th grade student at NurOrda International School, Almaty
  • Zhangir Bulat – 8th grade student at the Republican Physics and Mathematics School, Almaty
  • Batyrkhan Beyganov – 9th grade student at the Republican Physics and Mathematics School, Almaty

Silver medalist:

 

  • Nurtay Malik – 9th grade student at the Aktobe Regional Bilim-Innovation Lyceum-Boarding School

Bronze medalist:

 

  • Miras Kenesbek – 9th grade student at the Karaganda Regional Bilim-Innovation Lyceum-Boarding School

Kazakhstan has been participating in the JBMO since 2004 and consistently ranks among the top teams. Last year, at the Olympiad held in Antalya, Turkey, the national team also won six medals.
