Azerbaijani military personnel have refused to study in Russian in Kazakhstan, according to Adyrna national portal citing the haqqin.az news outlet.
This was announced by Major General Askar Mustabekov, head of the National Defense University of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
He stated that Azerbaijani servicemen, within the framework of the CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization), have expressed a desire to study in the Kazakh language.
“In Azerbaijan, they study in Azerbaijani, Turkish, or English. Therefore, they preferred to undergo training in Kazakh at our university,” said Mustabekov.
According to him, Kazakh language courses will
be launched at the university starting from September 1.
“First, they will learn Kazakh. The course will last for 9 months,” he added.
Mustabekov also noted that these programs will be modeled after the university’s Russian language courses.
“For example, officers from China, France, and India first study Russian at the university and then begin their military education,” he said.
It is worth noting that the National Defense University of Kazakhstan currently provides training for military personnel from CSTO member states, with military subjects taught in Russian.
