Several codes will be assigned to Kazakhstan, reports the national portal “Adyrna.”
Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry has submitted a draft resolution for public discussion regarding the division of the +7 international phone code between Kazakhstan and Russia.
“We are indeed jointly using the 7th zone of the global numbering system (with Russia). However, within this +7 framework, we have additional numbering ranges that are exclusively assigned to Kazakhstan. These include ‘+77’, ‘+76’, and
we are also reaching an agreement on ‘+70’. This numbering will pertain solely to Kazakhstan,” said Minister Zhasulan Madiyev.
According to the document, within the +7 code area, Kazakhstan will use the +70, +76, and +77 number ranges. Meanwhile, the Russian Federation will use +72, +73, +74, +75, and +79.
It is worth noting that last fall, Minister Zhasulan Madiyev explained why Kazakhstan continues to share the +7 code with Russia.
