Governor of Almaty region said that there would be 8 districts in Zhetysu oblast and 9 districts in Almaty oblast, the national portal "Adyrna" reported with reference to "Stan.kz".
"The division of Almaty region into Zhetysu and Almaty oblasts will give a strong impetus to the development of the two regions. Zhetysu oblast will include 8
districts and 352 settlements. Almaty oblast will include 9 districts and one city with 380 settlements," Bozumbayev said.

The mayor said that a working commission on administrative-territorial arrangements was established after the presidential decree. The commission included the heads of regional administrations and regional bodies.
