A Chinese company will build a waste incineration plant in Shymkent. This was announced during President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s working visit to the city, according to the “Adyrna” national portal.
According to Akorda, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the “Shymkent City” park. The President toured the park, which covers more than 20 hectares, including its fountain, artificial pond, amphitheater, landscape alleys, workout and skate areas.
Officials from the city administration said that to improve the ecological situation and create a comfortable environment for the city’s residents, more than 1 million tree saplings will be planted in the coming years.
Additionally, the city administration announced ongoing efforts to improve 12 parks in the city, clean flowerbeds, the shores of the Koshkar Ata River, and ditches, as well as the construction of an Eco Park on the site of a former landfill.
To clean up the city’s waste, a waste incineration plant will be built. This project will be implemented by the Chinese company Shaanxi Construction Engineering.
“The waste incineration plant project was presented to the President. The plant will be able to process up to 1,000 tons of solid waste per day and generate electricity,” said an Akorda statement.
