On April 9, 2025, the III International Scientific Forum — a unique scientific event bringing together scientists, education experts, young researchers, and students from around the world — kicked off at the Al-Farabi Palace of Schoolchildren.
The opening remarks were delivered by Kasymkhan Sengazaevich Sengazaev, Head of the Astana City Education Department, and Gazzhembek Tursynov, Director of the national “Daryn” Scientific-Practical Center. They highly praised the youth’s interest and enthusiasm for science, emphasizing the importance of education and innovation in shaping the country’s future.
Professor Pierre Léna from the University of Paris and a member of the French National Academy of Sciences participated online, highlighting the importance of innovative educational projects in developing the scientific potential of youth. He also touched upon international cooperation and the role of young people in global science.
From Kazakhstan, Lazzat Abaykyzy — President of ICSC, a certified patent attorney, and head of the “Children in Science” project — spoke about the importance of science and education in achieving sustainable development goals. She emphasized the value of academic writing and language, sharing insights on how students prepared to present their projects in English.
Manzur Somro (Pakistan) shared his views on how well-prepared today’s youth are for research activities.
Shyngys Akniyazov, a doctoral student from the University of Auckland in New Zealand, delivered a presentation titled “Astronomy and Space Exploration: Journey to the Moon and Back,” offering an overview of current achievements and the future of space research.
The forum also featured English-language presentations of scientific projects by students who have won international competitions. For example, Aruzhan Zhanibek, a student from Kokshetau, presented the “Zheruyik” device — a soil analysis and water-saving system that won a gold medal at an international competition in Korea.
This forum is clear evidence that early engagement in science leads to early success. Serving as a platform for innovation and scientific thought within the education system, it plays a vital role in shaping future leaders and trailblazers.
Kazakhstan’s education system is reaching new heights, and this forum is one of the steps along that path.
