Head of State Kasym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated all Kazakhstanis on Constitution Day, reports Adyrna national portal.
According to the President, the Constitution adopted 30 years ago by referendum has become a solid foundation of independence and statehood. It enshrines the values that define the nation’s present and future, and equally protects the rights and interests of all citizens.
“Congratulations on Constitution Day! Thirty years ago, our people made a historic choice by adopting the Constitution through a referendum. Our Constitution has become the firm foundation of Kazakhstan’s independence and statehood. It clearly reflects the immutable values and principles that determine our nation’s present and future. The Constitution laid the legal groundwork for Kazakhstan as a social state that equally protects the interests of all citizens, regardless of their ethnicity or religion. It is considered the main guarantor of public harmony and internal stability. We have achieved numerous successes in various fields thanks to our Basic Law,” the congratulatory message states.
President Tokayev also highlighted the large-scale constitutional reform implemented three years ago. Its key outcome was the renewal of the political system based on the formula “A Strong President – An Influential Parliament – An Accountable Government.” He stressed that the reform prioritized the protection of human rights, the establishment of the rule of law, and the introduction of several innovative provisions.
“To build a Fair, Honest, Strong, and Safe Kazakhstan, every citizen must respect the Constitution and strictly comply with all its provisions,” the President emphasized.
At the end of his address, the Head of State wished all Kazakhstanis good health, prosperity, and productive work.
