Today, August 12, President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev received President of the World Taekwondo Federation (WT) Chungwon Choue. This was reported by Akorda, Adyrna informs.
President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev noted that Chungwon Choue’s visit is considered an important event for Kazakhstan’s sports community.
He also stated that it demonstrates the World Taekwondo Federation’s readiness to provide comprehensive support for the development of this sport in the country.
The Head of State believes that taekwondo is not only an Olympic sport but also a philosophy based on the principles of harmony, discipline, and mutual respect, uniting millions of people around the world.
According to Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, hosting the G1 category Kazakhstan Open 2025 International Ranking Tournament in the capital will create broad opportunities for domestic athletes to improve their professional skills, exchange experience, and enhance the competitiveness of the National Federation.
