The soil of prominent Kazakh writer and researcher Mukhtar Magauin has been brought to his homeland, reports Adyrna national portal.

The writer’s son, Edige Magauin, brought soil from his father’s grave in the United States to the Köpbeit cemetery, where the author’s ancestors are buried. The cemetery is located in the Shubartau region of Abai Oblast.

“We took soil from our father’s resting place and placed it on the graves of his father, Magauiya, his grandfather Kurymbai, and Orinbasar, the woman who raised him. Likewise, we plan to take soil and wormwood from his homeland to his grave in Washington,” said Edige Magauin.

The writer’s manuscripts and personal archive are currently kept at the family home in Washington. Of the 27-volume collection he prepared in his later years, 26 volumes have been published, and the remaining works and diaries will be released in the future. According to his son, there are plans to turn the house where Mukhtar Magauin lived into a Mukhtar Magauin Center and museum.
