Kazakh scientists Kuanyshbek Sarsenbai and Zaure Dinova have developed a drug for the treatment of oncological diseases, according to Adyrna. The international evaluation company London Rate has valued the drug at $160 million (82.8 billion tenge).

The drug has received six international patents protected under the Berne Convention. Research has shown that when the drug is introduced into all tested solutions, it has a significant effect on AGS and HeLa cancer cell lines (adenocarcinomas), with over 88% of the cells being destroyed.

Major pharmaceutical companies from the United States and India have already expressed interest in the drug, and negotiations are currently underway regarding further development and commercialization.

According to Kuanyshbek Sarsenbai, the foundation of the drug was laid between 1975 and 1980 by his great-uncle, Soviet Dinov, who passed away in 2024. In his honor, the drug was named Sovetonko.

The scientist dedicated five years to the drug’s research. It successfully passed initial laboratory trials in 2023 and has shown promising results in treating leukemia, stomach cancer, cervical cancer, and Burkitt lymphoma. Some studies have even shown a 100% success rate.

Sarsenbai noted that the project did not receive government support and was initially funded by a private investor. Foreign companies have now made offers to fully acquire the drug, but there has been no interest from the Kazakhstani side so far, according to the developers.
