The heads of state attended the unveiling ceremony of the “Golden Bridge of Friendship” monument, located in the Alley of Kazakh-Kyrgyz Friendship in Bishkek, Adyrna reports.

The monument is dedicated to the great writers of the two nations, Mukhtar Auezov and Chyngyz Aitmatov. The project, initiated by the Association of Kazakhs in Kyrgyzstan, received support from the leaders of both countries.

At the opening ceremony, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that this day holds special significance for both Kazakhs and Kyrgyz:

“We see this as a vivid symbol of the brotherhood between our two nations and as a sign of the Kyrgyz people’s special respect for the Kazakh people. First of all, I would like to express my deep gratitude to President Sadyr Japarov for supporting this noble initiative. I also sincerely thank the entire Kyrgyz nation. I believe this place will become one of the spiritual centers of this historic city. Last year, a monument to Aikol Manas was unveiled in Astana. Such initiatives undoubtedly strengthen the friendship and cooperation between our fraternal peoples. In truth, there are no nations closer to one another than Kazakhs and Kyrgyz. We are one people, united by blood and spirit, with shared roots and a common history. Our friendship, tested over centuries, has already stood the test of time. The whole world now witnesses our brotherhood. We must cherish our priceless wealth—our blessed unity,” said the President of Kazakhstan.
