Kazakhstani athlete becomes a three-time world champion in para powerlifting

At the World Para Powerlifting Championships held in Cairo, an athlete from Akmola region won two gold medals, reports the national portal “Adyrna.”

Honored Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, David Degtyarev, claimed two gold medals in the up to 54 kg weight category.

In the individual event, the athlete lifted 191 kg, achieving the highest result. In addition, with the total of three attempts, he surpassed competitors from China and El Salvador, securing victory in the overall standings.

Thus, David Degtyarev has become a three-time world champion in para powerlifting, making a significant contribution to the development of Paralympic sports in Kazakhstan.

He is coached by Honored Coach of Kazakhstan, Yuri Kolesnikov.
