An Art Museum has opened in Astana, according to the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Information, reports “Adyrna.”
Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balaeva visited the museum’s exhibition, which features more than 1,600 national musical instruments.
“The museum pays special attention to rare and nearly forgotten instruments such as the zhelbuaz, mes syrnai, uіldek, tastauyk, and others. All the exhibits were handmade by the museum’s staff. In addition, visitors were shown a hall of national costumes and the museum’s workshop,” the statement said.
According to the Minister, the opening of such a museum in Astana will make a significant contribution to promoting national culture and craftsmanship.
The Art Museum is located in a historical school building constructed at the end of the 19th century. In 1982, this building was included in the list of historical and cultural monuments of national significance and taken under state protection. The museum also operates a workshop for restoring and preserving ancient musical instruments.
