President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on reaching a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Adyrna reports, citing Akorda.

Earlier in Washington, Armenia and Azerbaijan signed a declaration on establishing peace.

According to the President of Kazakhstan, this is a document of historic significance, made possible thanks to Pashinyan’s political acumen. The declaration paves the way for large-scale international cooperation in the South Caucasus, as well as for more dynamic economic and investment interaction between Kazakhstan and Armenia.

Kasym-Jomart Tokayev stated that Astana has already begun preparations for the Armenian Prime Minister’s official visit planned for the end of the year. Kazakhstan, by offering its platform for negotiations, intends to further contribute to the political dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Nikol Pashinyan expressed gratitude to Tokayev for his warm words and support. The Prime Minister praised Kazakhstan’s contribution to reconciliation between Armenia and Azerbaijan and said he was ready to make a special visit to Kazakhstan this year to sign new agreements that would enhance bilateral cooperation.
