Employees of the Ministry of Agriculture and executive committee were detained on suspicion of embezzling billions of tenge, the national portal Adyrna reports citing Express Kazakhstan.
In this regard, a special operation is underway in Kazakhstan to detain structural units of the Ministry of Agriculture, employees of akimats and members of organized crime groups.
The Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) reported that such operations were taking place in seven regions of the country.
- The Anti-Corruption Service confirms that operational search activities were carried out in Nur-Sultan, Shymkent, Turkestan, East Kazakhstan, West Kazakhstan, Akmola and Aktobe regions. All the detainees were involved in the theft of agricultural subsidies, the press service of the agency reports.
