Toktar Aubakirov was born on July 27, 1946 in the Karkaralinsk district of the Karaganda region. This year the cosmonaut celebrates his 75th birthday.

A few words about the astronaut

Toktar Aubakirov graduated from Armavir Higher Military Pilot School, Moscow Pilot School, Moscow Aviation Institute. In 1988, for the first time in the Soviet Union, he bravely flew to the North Pole by refueling. At the same time, Toktar Aubakirov was awarded the title of "Hero of the Soviet Union" for his outstanding work in the field of aviation.

Then, in 1989, he was the first to land a MIG-29K supersonic aircraft on a Tbilisi cruiser and fly off the springboard again. This is the first ascent in the world, and his name is included in the Guinness Book of Records.

He also tested more than 50 new types of jets. He joined the cosmonauts in 1990, and on April 25, 1991, he began training for space flight at the Astronaut Training Center of the Soviet Union, and on October 2 of the same year he flew into space from Baikonur aboard the SoyuzTM-13 spacecraft.

The astronaut prepares for this trip scientifically before physical training. More than 300 scientists and specialists will gather and develop a special program. It takes into account the space study of the ecological situation of the Aral Sea. Thus, the Aral Sea region was photographed from space, and it was found that the salt in it flies to the Arctic Ocean.

There were other studies. All this has attracted the attention of the world, and for the last 30 years, no astronaut has shown such news through such research, and the work of Toktar Aubakirov is highly appreciated.

This is how the name of the first Kazakh cosmonaut went down in world history.
