At the invitation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni will pay an official visit to Kazakhstan on April 26–27. This was reported by the Akorda press service on April 21. During the negotiations, the parties will discuss prospects for developing the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Italy. On April 27, the first-ever “Central Asia – Italy” summit will be held in Astana.
It is worth recalling that in May 2023, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni was scheduled to make a working visit to Astana. However, due to the devastating floods in the Emilia-Romagna region, which resulted in numerous casualties, she returned to her country to visit the affected areas, leaving the G7 summit in Hiroshima early.
