At the Winter Asian Games in Harbin, China, the pairs figure skating competition took place, reports the national portal “Adyrna.”
Six pairs participated in the event. Based on the short program results, the Uzbek duo—Ekaterina Geinich and Dmitry Chigirev—scored 64.55 points, securing first place.
In the free program, the Uzbek athletes placed second with 111.88 points, while the North Korean pair took the lead with 112.20 points. However, in the overall standings, the Uzbek skaters emerged victorious.
This marks Uzbekistan’s first gold medal at the 2025 Asian Games and in figure skating. According to local media, the last time Uzbekistan won gold at the Asian Games was in 1999.
