According to the national portal Adyrna, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow dismissed several high-ranking officials during an expanded government meeting on February 7.
Minister of Economy and Finance, Serdar Jorayev, was dismissed after presenting a report on the work completed in 2024. He stated that the revenue part of the state budget was fulfilled by 105.9%, while the expenditure part was fulfilled by 99.9%. President Berdimuhamedow appointed Deputy Minister Mammetguly Astangulov as his replacement.
Vice Prime Minister for Culture and Mass Media, Mährijemal Mämmedowa, was also dismissed. She had reported on events, creative competitions, and cultural projects dedicated to the 300th anniversary of poet Magtymguly Pyragy. However, the president expressed dissatisfaction with her work and replaced her with Bahar Seyidova.
Additionally, Ahal Province Governor Soltanmyrat Soltanmyradov was removed from his position and replaced by Toyguly Nurmuradov.
President Berdimuhamedow reported that in 2024, the country’s GDP grew by 6.3%, with industrial production increasing by 1.5%, construction by 11%, transportation and communications by 7.2%, trade by 10.1%, and services by 8.6%. Wages increased by 10.6%, and pensions and benefits were paid on time.
For 2025, Turkmenistan plans to build 500,000 square meters of housing, schools with a total capacity of 4,620 students, and kindergartens for 2,000 children. Additionally, several international events are planned.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedow expressed confidence in the country’s further development, emphasizing that new achievements would be reached through the labor and unity of the people.
