The Republican “Kansonar” Hunters’ Public Association and the Association of Hunting Farms have become the official patent holders of the Kazakh Tazy dog breed, according to the “Adyrna” national portal, citing the press service of the National Institute of Intellectual Property.
The patent for the “Kazakh Tazy” was granted to the Republican “Kansonar” Hunters’ Public Associations and the Association of Hunting Farms. A patent for a breeding achievement is issued if it meets the criteria of novelty, distinctiveness, uniformity, and stability. The scope of legal protection provided by the patent is determined by the set of characteristics included in the breed description, the statement said.
The patent was granted based on research conducted in collaboration with the Genetics Institute from 2021 to 2023. The Kazakh Tazy was found to have high resistance to climatic stress, exceptional stability of the nervous system, and outstanding performance in sports competitions such as coursing.
“The high working capacity and stability of the gait during running are directly related to the functional state of the nervous system. The exceptional stability of the Kazakh Tazy’s high nervous activity distinguishes it from other breeds. Kazakh Tazy dogs show excellent results in coursing with mechanical hares, as well as in competitions and trials designed for this breed,” the press service noted.
Representatives of the association annually organize pedigree exhibitions across the country to assess the dogs’ compliance with breed standards. Tazy dogs can easily adapt to any climatic conditions, from harsh winter cold to scorching southern heat.
