Kazakhstan won its first gold medal at the Universiade in Turin

Kazakh freestyle mogul skier Anastasia Gorodko won a gold medal at the Universiade in Turin, Italy, as reported by the “Adyrna” national portal.

In the final, the Kazakh athlete scored 79.79 points, securing first place. Japanese skier Haruka Nakao took second place with 76.29 points, and German athlete Hanna Wess won third place with 75.04 points.

Another representative of Kazakhstan, Ayulym Amrenova, finished in fifth place with 70.52 points.

The 19-year-old Gorodko delivered Kazakhstan’s first gold medal at the 2025 Universiade. Anastasia Gorodko is a three-time world champion. In 2022, she won a gold medal in parallel mogul, and in 2024, she took first place in mogul skiing. This year, at the World Junior Championship in Almaty, she won a gold medal in parallel mogul.

It is worth noting that the 32nd Winter Universiade is taking place in Turin, Italy, from January 13 to 23, 2025, with around 2,000 athletes from 57 countries competing in 11 sports, with 90 medal sets at stake.

Kazakhstan’s team is represented by 103 athletes in 10 sports (biathlon, cross-country skiing, winter orienteering, freestyle, figure skating, ice hockey (men and women), para-skiing, alpine skiing, and short track), competing for the country’s honor.
