A representative of the Kazakhstan national weightlifting team, Nurgisa Adiletuly, became the champion at the World Championship held in Manama, Bahrain, reports the “Adyrna” national portal.
According to Olympic.kz, the weightlifter won the gold medal in the 96 kg weight category.
Nurgisa lifted a total of 388 kg (174 kg in the snatch and 214 kg in the clean and jerk), which was enough to secure first place at the World Championship.
Revas Davitadze (Georgia) claimed the silver medal with a total of 387 kg (177+210 kg), while Iran’s Ali Alipour completed the top three with 387 kg (173+214 kg).
