The mayor of Talgar, Bakyt Kurishbekov, and his deputy, Matan Sagyndyk, have been dismissed from their positions due to failure to fulfill their duties properly, as announced today by the Talgar District Administration, reports the “Adyrna” national portal.
The official statement reads: “Mayor of Talgar, Kurishbekov Bakyt Kuatbekovich, and Deputy Mayor of Talgar, Matan Sagyndyk, have been dismissed from their positions for not performing their duties at the required level.”
Kurishbekov has led Talgar since the summer of 2022 and previously served as the responsible secretary of the Talgar District branch of the Amanat Party.
It should be noted that on October 4, a 16-year-old named Sherzat Bolat died at the hands of 15 people in Talgar. Following his death, Sherzat’s relatives demanded a transparent investigation. Subsequently, Sherzat’s family home was set on fire by unknown individuals, causing a major public outcry.
