Kazakh judoka Nazgul Maratova claimed the bronze medal at the Grand Slam tournament in Abu Dhabi, as reported by “Adyrna.” Competing in the +78 kg weight category, she secured her victory in extra time against neutral athlete Anastasia Kholodina.
Earlier, another Kazakh athlete, Karina Takieva, who also competed for bronze in the +78 kg category, received three warnings and was defeated by a Croatian judoka.
With these results, Kazakhstan concluded the Abu Dhabi tournament with three bronze medals. Prior to Maratova’s win, Dauren Suyukenov (60 kg) and Abiba Abuzhakynova (48 kg) also earned bronze medals.
It is worth noting that the tournament featured 219 judokas from 29 countries.
