Deputy Prime Minister - Deputy Head of the Republican Staff for Coordination of Anti-Flood Actions and Elimination of Flood Effects Kanat Bozimbaev said that it is planned to introduce a state of emergency in Atyrau, the national portal "Adyrna" reported. This was announced by the Vice Minister of Culture and Information, Kanat Yskakov.
"I think that first of all we will declare a state of emergency in Atyrau. It will be published in Atyrau as well as in Kulsary. But of course not to excite people. Today, we are making a plan to deal with the flood in the Zhayik River. Because now the cubic meter of sewage coming from the Russian Federation is 3 thousand, in the future it may be 4-4.5 thousand. It takes about 20 days for this water to reach Atyrau. Therefore, until we reach Atyrau, we must strengthen all our dams, dig the necessary canals and be ready to return the water," said Bozimbayev on Saturday.
It should be noted that the consequences of the floods in the country are still far from over. The regions were flooded, and a local state of emergency was declared in nine regions (Abay, Akmola, Aktobe, Atyrau, West Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Kostanay, Pavlodar, Ulytau). President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev sent an appeal to the people of Kazakhstan regarding the natural disaster.
