Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev signed the Decree "On approval of the regulations on the State Security Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan". According to the decree, the security service is no longer responsible for Nazarbayev's security, the national portal "Adyrna" reports.
According to the new change, the task of ensuring the security of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was removed from the main function of the State Security Service (SSC).
"The tasks are to ensure the safety of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and other protected persons," the new document says.
The decree will enter into force on August 3, 10 days after its first official publication.
Let's recall that before this, the document on removing the duty to ensure Nazarbayev's security from the Security Council was submitted for public discussion and later approved.
