The period of stay of foreigners in Kazakhstan has been reduced. The Ministry of Internal Affairs explained how the rules for immigrants entering and staying in Kazakhstan will change, reports the national portal "Adyrna".
According to the changes made to the rules of arrival and stay of immigrants in Kazakhstan, foreigners who do not require a visa to enter Kazakhstan can stay in the country for 30 days. However, their total stay should not exceed 90 days within 180 days (six months).
"Citizens of the EAEU who come to Kazakhstan can stay in the territory of the republic for only 90 days in 180 days.
This issue was not resolved in the previous version of the rule. Foreigners could leave and re-enter Kazakhstan after the end of their stay in the country. Now these conditions have been changed," the ministry noted.
It was noted that the new restrictions do not apply to foreigners who have received a temporary residence permit or visa. The Board emphasizes that such requirements are also used in international practice. In particular, citizens of Kazakhstan can stay in the territory of Belarus and Russia for a period of no more than 90 days in 180 days.
At the same time, in accordance with the Law "On Legal Acts", the force of the normative legal act does not apply to those who entered into force before it. That is, the changes made to the rules will apply to foreigners arriving in Kazakhstan from January 27, 2023.
"If, upon entering Kazakhstan, it is determined that the period of stay in the territory of the country has been exceeded, the Border Service will restrict entry to the country in accordance with Article 48 of the Law "On Migration of Population", concluded the ministry.
