The swans that landed in the Karakol watershed, 20 kilometers from the city of Aktau, Mangistau region, are dying en masse. During the study of the sacred bird for Kazakhs, symptoms of bird flu were detected. A vaccine was urgently sent to the region, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.
The tests on the swans were carried out by RMC "National Reference Center for Veterinary Medicine".
The Veterinary Control and Supervision Committee of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported that 18,644 doses of vaccine were allocated from the republican fund to vaccinate all poultry in Mangystau. Specialists of the republican anti-epizootic detachment are also working in the region.
"In order to maintain a stable epizootic situation on highly pathogenic avian influenza, local executive bodies conduct awareness-raising activities among economic operators, veterinarians, hunters, rangers, residents and other interested parties (with birds)," said the Veterinary Control and Supervision Committee of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan. .
Poultry farms, on the other hand, are stepping up veterinary measures to prevent wild and synanthropic birds from approaching feeders and poultry buildings.
Also, specialists have stated that now domestic birds are not infected with influenza, and the epizootic situation of bird flu is stable.
