17-year-old Kazakhstani Aruzhan Sagandykova became the winner of the ITF World Tennis Tour W15 tennis tournament in Turkey, NUR.KZ reports citing the official website of the Federation.
In the final, the Kazakhstani in a duet with Yu-Yun Li (Chinese Taipei) won a strong-willed victory over Anastasia and Rada Zolotarev from Russia. The match ended with the score 7:5, 3:6, 10:4. In singles, Aruzhan reached the quarterfinals, where she lost to Serbian Natalia Senich - 6:3, 1:6, 5:7.
“I can’t even describe my emotions, because I just won the debut adult tournament of the ITF series. Today was probably the most important day of the season for me. I was able to win the trophy that I really wanted. I want to thank the Tennis Federation of Kazakhstan, as well as my coach Ruslan Mukhamedzyanov for support and faith in me," Sagyndykova said.
The title in Antalya was the first for Aruzhan in the adult women's tour.
