The Turkic Academy commemorates the victims of Azerbaijani political repression at the ALZHIR Museum

An event dedicated to the memory of the victims of Azerbaijani political repressions was held today at the International Turkic Academy's memorial-museum complex "ALZHIR".

The event was organized on the occasion of the 130th anniversary of Ahmed Javad (Javada Muhammadali oglu Akhundzadeh), a great representative of Turkic literature, author of the anthem of Azerbaijan, educator, prominent public figure.

President of the International Turkic Academy Darkhan Kydyrali, Counselor of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan Rovshan Kazymov, Director of the State Institute of History Erkin Abil, Professor of Turkic Studies at L. Gumilyov ENU, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan Samat Tergembayev, director of the memorial-museum complex, Dauletkerey Kapuly, director of the Nur-Sultan branch of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan, representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora, as well as heads of organizations, intellectuals and prominent scientists.
