A passenger plane with 242 people on board crashed in India

A Boeing 787-8 aircraft on the Ahmedabad–London Gatwick route has crashed, according to the national portal “Adyrna.” On June 12, Air India flight AI171 Dreamliner took off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport but crashed within minutes near the Meghaninagar area. The exact number of casualties and injured is yet to be confirmed. The flight took off at approximately 13:38. There were 242 people on board, including 230 passengers and 12 crew members. However, some media sources have reported that the number of passengers may have been as high as 290. The crashed Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner first entered service in 2013. Currently, seven fire brigades and multiple ambulances are at the scene. A “green corridor” has been set up to transport the injured to hospitals quickly. India’s Home Minister Amit Shah and Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu are at the crash site along with various government departments. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) of India and Boeing have begun investigating the cause of the crash.
