Several people were killed as a result of the incident, reports the national portal “Adyrna.” According to CBC News, the incident occurred on the evening of April 26 at the intersection of Fraser Street and East 41st Avenue, where an event dedicated to Lapu-Lapu Day was taking place. “Several people were killed and several others injured after a vehicle struck a group of people at a street festival on Saturday evening. The driver has been taken into custody,” CBC News reported, citing police information. Law enforcement authorities noted that additional information would be provided later, as the investigation is still ongoing. Witnesses said the driver appeared to be about 20 years old and was acting strangely. He seemed to be a person with a mental disorder.
