Tickets for the UEFA Champions League playoff qualifying match between Kairat and Celtic were sold out in just 1.5 hours, reports Adyrna National Portal.
According to the club’s management:
“SOLD OUT! All tickets for the Kairat – Celtic match have been sold! The second-leg playoff match of the Champions League will take place on August 26 at 21:45 at the Central Stadium in Almaty. A record interest was recorded – more than 100,000 applications were submitted for tickets. As a result, the entire available batch of tickets was sold out in less than 1.5 hours,” the statement on Kairat football club’s Instagram page read.
Spectators were advised to arrive at the stadium 2–3 hours before kick-off, as security checks at the entrance could cause queues and inconvenience. Entry to the stadium will be organized through three gates:
- from Abay Avenue,
- from Satbayev Street,
- from Baytursynov Street.
However, Kairat fans expressed frustration at how quickly the tickets were sold. They claim that most of the tickets ended up in the hands of scalpers, as numerous resale advertisements appeared on popular platforms. Supporters called on the club’s management to take urgent action and urged fans not to buy tickets from scalpers.
