Kazakhstan welcomes the meeting between the presidents of Russia and the United States in Anchorage as the beginning of a high-level negotiation process on Ukraine. This was announced today, August 16, by presidential adviser and press secretary Ruslan Zheldibay, reports an Adyrna correspondent.

“President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev believes that this historic summit was made possible thanks to the political will of the two leaders. They demonstrated their genuine intention to find common solutions to the most pressing issues of our time, including putting an end to the military actions in Ukraine,” he said.

As a reminder, on August 15, the U.S. and Russia met in Alaska to discuss ways to end the war in Ukraine.
