President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated the people of Kazakhstan on Victory Day, according to a statement released by Akorda, reports Adyrna national portal.
“I sincerely congratulate you on the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory!
On this significant day, every citizen of our country expresses heartfelt gratitude to the victorious older generation.
The brutal war against fascism brought immense grief and suffering to our people. Our heroic soldiers showed extraordinary courage and bravery, fighting tirelessly for freedom and justice. Hundreds of thousands of our troops fell on the battlefield. Despite unimaginable hardships, those on the home front worked tirelessly and made an invaluable contribution to bringing Victory closer. They labored day and night in the fields, factories, and plants, supplying the frontlines.
We will never forget the resilience and hard work of our compatriots. We will always honor the names of our heroes who showed the highest example of self-sacrifice and valor. We continue to support and care for our veterans.
Many events are being held across Kazakhstan to commemorate Victory Day. A decision has been made to name nearly 500 streets after our heroic soldiers across the country. A large-scale military parade was held. All of these efforts are meant to ensure that the memory of this devastating war is never erased from our nation’s consciousness.
On Victory Day, we reflect deeply on the value of peace and the importance of friendship and harmony. These unshakable values will always remain the foundation for improving the well-being of our people and ensuring Kazakhstan’s sustainable development. I firmly believe in this.
I wish our esteemed veterans and all fellow citizens good health, happiness, and prosperity.
Happy Victory Day!” the President said.
