The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran has launched a military operation against Israel called “True Promise-3,” according to Adyrna national portal citing RIA. Iran stated that this action was in response to Israeli aggression. “As a defensive force of the Iranian people, and relying on God’s power and the wise leadership of the Supreme Commander, the ‘True Promise-3’ operation has begun,” the statement read. During the operation, Iran launched nearly 300 ballistic missiles toward Israel. Nine of them landed on Israeli territory, with two directly striking Israel’s Ministry of Defense building. Additionally, Iran’s military confirmed it had destroyed two Israeli F-16 fighter jets and several drones. According to Tasnim agency, Iranian forces also captured a female pilot from a downed Israeli aircraft. As a result of Iran’s attack, at least 40 people were injured, with two in critical condition. A video showing a missile hitting a building in Tel Aviv has circulated online. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made an appeal to the Iranian people, urging them to rise against their government: “Now is the time to act,” he said. Israel’s cabinet is currently considering countermeasures. Meanwhile, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, strongly condemned Israel’s attack, calling it “an action pushing toward a nuclear catastrophe.” Turkish lawyer Serdar Tokdemir compared the situation to the beginning of a third world war: “This Israeli operation is a widespread, systematic, and well-planned assault on the region,” he stated. Iran’s permanent representative to the UN, Amir Saeid Iravani, described Israel’s action as equivalent to a declaration of war and a gross violation of international law. According to him, the attack resulted in 78 deaths and more than 320 injuries in Iran. In response to the escalating situation, Kazakhstan has restricted all flights over Middle Eastern airspace. The Civil Aviation Committee has banned Kazakh airlines from flying through Iran, Israel, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, and Jordan. “This decision was made due to the sudden deterioration of the situation in the region. Approaching even near military zones is prohibited. The ban takes immediate effect,” the announcement said.
