Three students from Kazakhstan’s Shoqan School have been admitted to some of the world’s most prestigious universities — Harvard and the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley), reports the national portal “Adyrna,” citing KazTAG.
Arman Sabyrzhan was accepted into Harvard University’s Computer Engineering program with a full scholarship. Tomiris Ospan was admitted to Harvard’s Economics faculty, and Kamilla Zhandildayeva was accepted into UC Berkeley’s unique Management, Entrepreneurship, and Technology (MET) program. It is worth noting that this year, 127,000 people applied to the MET program, and only 200 candidates were selected.
In addition, Aruzhan Asyl was accepted into one of the UK’s top Foundation programs — University College London (UCL).
The founders of Shoqan School — entrepreneur Kenes Rakishev and environmentalist Assel Tasmagambetova — have provided scholarships to students totaling over 173 million tenge. Moreover, they have pledged to fully cover the tuition fees of graduates who are admitted to the world’s top 10 universities.
