Elon Musk has reportedly rented one of the cottages on the grounds of Donald Trump’s private Mar-a-Lago residence, according to The New York Times as cited by Adyrna.

The cottage, named “Banyan,” is located several hundred feet away from the main house. Staying on the property allows Musk to attend dinners and events hosted by Trump.

Musk is not the only associate of the new president-elect staying in the Mar-a-Lago area. According to sources, Vice President-elect J.D. Vance has also taken up residence in one of the cottages.

The New York Times noted that Trump took pride in mentioning that Musk, the world’s richest man, was renting a residential space at Mar-a-Lago.

While the standard cost of renting a cottage on the estate is at least $2,000 per night (around 1,049,000 KZT), the exact amount Musk is paying remains unknown. Typically, guests are billed upon departure, leading to speculation that Trump might waive the cost entirely or offer a discounted rate to Musk.

Reports indicate that Musk moved into the cottage around election day and monitored the election results alongside Trump. Although Musk left the property just before Christmas, he is expected to return soon, according to the New York Times.

It’s worth noting that on January 20, Donald Trump will be inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States.
