Hasan Kasymbayev, identified as the leader of the “Khutor” criminal group, has been detained. The information was confirmed by the Almaty Regional Police Department, reports “Adyrna.”
The man was arrested for a crime committed several years ago and is currently in a temporary detention facility. According to the police department, Hasan Kasymbayev is being investigated under Article 106, Part 1 (Intentional Infliction of Serious Harm to Health) and Article 125, Part 2 (Kidnapping by a Group in Preliminary Conspiracy) of the Criminal Code.
“On November 2, 2024, Citizen K. was placed in a temporary detention facility on suspicion of intentionally inflicting serious harm and kidnapping Citizen A. in June 2021. Comprehensive investigative actions are currently underway to ensure a thorough, complete, and objective examination of all circumstances of the crimes,” the statement said.
It should be noted that Hasan Kasymbayev’s name came up in connection with the death of 16-year-old Sherzat Bolat. Some sources have called him the leader of the “Khutors” criminal group, though he has denied these allegations.
